Charizard is the final evolutionary stage of the Charmander line, following Charmeleon. It is recognized as a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon with a dragon-like appearance, orange coloring, wings, and a flame burning at the end of its tail. Charizard first appeared in the 1996 Pokémon games Pokémon Red and Green and became a prominent character through the animated series and trading card releases. Later games added two Mega Evolutions, Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, as well as a Gigantamax form. In collecting, Charizard is represented across many eras, languages, rarities, artwork styles, and promotional products, making it one of the most extensively documented Pokémon subjects.
