Lucario is a dual-type Fighting- and Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It first appeared in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, following a prominent role in the 2005 animated film Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Lucario’s defining concept is aura, an energy it can sense and direct during battle. In the main series games, it evolves from Riolu when Riolu has high friendship and levels up during the day. Lucario can also use Mega Evolution in games that support that feature. Outside the core series, it has remained a recurring presence in the animated franchise, Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Super Smash Bros., making it a particularly recognizable subject for collectors.
