About Oscar Robertson
Oscar Robertson was an elite point guard whose all-around play defined an era of professional basketball. He spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Royals and later helped the Milwaukee Bucks win an NBA championship.
Oscar Robertson played point guard in the NBA from 1960 through 1974, beginning his professional career with the Cincinnati Royals before joining the Milwaukee Bucks. Known for his scoring, rebounding, passing, and control of the game, he became one of basketball’s most complete players. Robertson won the 1961 NBA Rookie of the Year Award, earned the 1964 league MVP honor, and was selected as an All-Star 12 times. In 1971, he partnered with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to lead Milwaukee to its first NBA championship. Robertson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 and remains an important figure in the history of the point guard position.
