About John Stockton
John Stockton is a Hall of Fame point guard who spent his entire NBA career with the Utah Jazz from 1984 to 2003. He is widely recognized as one of basketball’s greatest passers and floor leaders.
John Stockton played point guard for the Utah Jazz from 1984 through 2003, forming a celebrated partnership with forward Karl Malone. Selected by Utah in the first round of the 1984 NBA Draft, Stockton became known for precise passing, steady decision-making, defensive pressure, and exceptional durability. He led the NBA in assists nine times and steals twice, earned 10 All-Star selections, and helped the Jazz reach the NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998. Stockton also represented the United States on Olympic gold-medal teams in 1992 and 1996. At retirement, he held NBA career records for assists and steals. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
